Nexium.
Nexium (esomeprazole) is commonly prescribed for patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease, although your doctor may also prescribe it for prevention of ulcer. Take Nexium at the same time every day to make sure you remember to take a dose. It's also very important that you take this drug one hour before having a meal. It's very important to use this medicine regularly and avoid missing doses, as this may affect the success of your treatment. Some mild side effects are associated with the treatment if Nexium is used, and they may include the following symptoms: headache, constipation, diarrhea, gas, nausea, dry mouth, and stomach pain. You will need to make sure to report only serious side effects that are also sometimes possible, such as difficulty breathing or swallowing, itching, swelling of the face, throat, hands or feet, hives, blisters or peeling skin, rash, hoarseness, and some other ones. Nexium is very well tolerated, and in most patients will not cause even the mild side effects mentioned. If you are taking anticoagulants, digoxin, iron supplements, antifungals, atazanavir, or clopidogrel – tell your health care provider about it.
